Ecery page is dedicated to the patient, reassuring them that they are not alone, even if they are dying. As soon as you start reading you'll find that this book is a friendly book, not at all scary. It takes away feelings of guilt, loneliness, and uselessness. It offers hope and makes the reader feel better. It helps family members understand the patient's feelings. It's illustrations are simple and can be understood by people who cannot read. Small children can understand what is happening to the family member. It is the only book written about cancer that families can read together.
