The Irish sensation Riverdance is driven as much by Bill Whelan's infectious music as it is by flying clogs. This book includes 20 numbers from the show, including such selections as "Freedom" and "American Wake," which were added for the New York version of the show. Choral pieces including "The Heart's Cry" and "Home and the Heartland" are here, though not scored for SATB, and for those venturing beyond the piano, the instrumental sections provide cues for bodhrán, uilleann pipes, and fiddle, among others. Book is nicely bound and printing is clear. Would be nice to have been spiral bound. A nice representation of the music. Includes tabulatur for guitar.

The beginning pages provide some background on each piece, describing things both artistic and technical, such as historical influences and musical structure.
As far as I can tell, the music for each piece in the book is faithful to the music from the show and has not been simplified, embellished, or rearranged for other instruments.
The book is about 8 mm thick with an inflexible hard glued spine. If you open the book, it will not naturally lie flat when placed on a music stand. You will likely need page holder clips, which makes turning pages awkward. At 400 grams, the book is also a bit heavy for some collapsible stands.

Decent but not what I was expecting

This boook should come with a warning. This contains composition to the music in "riverdance" but this is not for the piano. What I mean is, there are a lot of songs in this book but most only have the melody without the left hand accompaniment. I bought this book specifically to learn how to perform riverdance on piano but now I will have to come up with my own accompaniment.

This book is terrific! I've wanted to play fiddle along to my Riverdance CD for the longest time, and now I can.
